Finally a bicycle bottle that doesn’t stink, mold or fall out while you’re driving.

We’re not saying that it takes a retired NASA engineer to make a metal bicycle bottle that won’t rattle in a standard bicycle cage. It just so happens that Bivo, an up and coming bicycle brand from Portland, Oregon, hired just that to make their debut product.

The $ 39 Bivo One is a stainless steel bike water bottle – a rarity in the industry. While the Bivo isn’t the first iteration of the steel bicycle bottle concept, it’s the only one we’ve tested that doesn’t rattle or fall out of standard bicycle bottle cages.

And after 18 months of research and development, the Bivo stainless steel bicycle bottle is live.

Get to know Bivo One: stainless steel bicycle bottle

My new favorite bicycle bottle is made of food-grade stainless steel with a silicone coating on the outside. It is guaranteed to have a better flow rate than your hydration pack or plastic water bottle. There is no pushing or suction to get the water out. And I was able to completely empty the bottle without opening the lid.

Gravity flow design

How do you ask The Bivo bottle has a gravity flow, which means that when you open the valve and tilt the bottle, the water flows freely. And if you aren’t aware, stainless steel tastes better than plastic. So if you forget your drink mix for a long time, Bivo won’t keep that flavor.

Since it is stainless steel, Bivo does not retain mold. In addition, the bottle, silicone mouthpiece lid, and internal straw can all end up in the dishwasher. And it comes with a pipe cleaner style straw with each bottle and flat bottle cage screws. Best of all, when I threw this bottle in my shoulder bag with the mouthpiece closed, the bottle didn’t leak.

Bivo One is not insulated, holds 21 fluid ounces, and is available in four colors. In case you’re wondering why Bivo calls it the “One”, the street says more sizes and styles are coming soon. The Portland brand is also committed part of the turnover to his foundation, which funds charities that align with the United Nations Sustainable development goals.

Finally, Bivo offsets its CO2 emissions by supporting projects for clean burning stoves in India.
