Garmin wants to inspire all women of adventure – past, present and future – with its new children’s book.

This week Garmin announced its own children’s book. Inspired by the sports brand’s Women of Adventure initiativeThe book, entitled “Women of Adventure: Growing Up in a Brave World,” contains stories from six female athletes who are interested in adventure.

“[The book] inspires the next generation of brave women to dream big, try new things and never give up, ”wrote Garmin. And with stories in sports like BASE jumping, Paddleboarding, and To runIt sounds like it’s quite an engaging read.

The women featured include five-time US champion triathlete Patricia Walsh, the wingsuit pilot and the BASE jumper Steph Davisand climbers Shelma Jun, along with Mirna Valerio, Jenny Kalmbach and Rebecca Rusch.

Written and illustrated by Garmin staff, the book shares the qualities that make every woman unique and touches on the science behind her sports and passions.

In addition to stories, the book also contains an interactive component. Each story includes an “Explore” page that provides readers with information on pathfinding, geology, ecology, and more.

“The book represents a variety of ages, body types, activities and races. It shows inclusivity in the outdoors and teaches children that they can do whatever they want,” said Rebecca Sommers, author and creative director at Garmin. “As a mother, it was important to me to share [stories of] exemplary role models. “
