In addition to being open for business, Keystone Resort in Summit County, Colorado has just announced new ski area.
The Keystone Resort just celebrated its opening weekendbut there is more to come. The US Forest Service right now approved the Colorado Resort to expand to more terrain.
The Keystone Resort currently offers more than 3,000 acres of ski area. The new plan to “upgrade the mountain” would allow both the Bergman and Erickson shells to ski on the lift when completed. The recording is added About 16 trails and 50 hectares of virgin land as well as infrastructure such as a ski patrol hut.
The resort must be approved by the Forest Service as it is part of the White River National Forest. After this initial approval, the proposal runs into a 45-day public comment objection period. After that, the USFS will make a final decision on the proposal.
“Our draft decision strikes a balance between protecting sensitive resources like wetlands and expanding the recreational and economic opportunities in this popular ski area.” said the acting forest ranger Lisa Stoeffler.
“These improvements would be in an area already used by skiers and within Keystone’s allowable limits.”
Keystone Resort expects the project to be approved before the end of the year. You can reserve ski days with Keystone Here.
