Follow Argali Outdoors’s Brad Brooks as he packs llamas on a mule deer hunt in Nevada backcountry in August.
Packing cattle is always an interesting adventure. And the use of llamas adds a special layer to a backcountry adventure. Brooks grabs a line of three llamas and they bring what he calls “llama drama” into the experience.
Argalis films tend to take on a gentler, more zen-like atmosphere than most hunting films. And this film is no different. It’s a fun trip through Brooks’ mind, his relationship with the llamas, and his relationship with mule deer.
The country the boys go to is a new country for them. And it’s a big, beautiful, ambitious western country. Experience endless stocks of mugwort, wide open alpine areas, lots of deer and the eternal question of whether a deer will come home with Brooks – or not.
