The Game Call brand gives depth and muscle to MeatEaters’ wide range of hunting and cooking products.
MeatEater continues to expand its popularity as an all-round lifestyle brand. from media – including a Netflix series and a variety of podcasts – to written and cook-oriented content, to retail brands like First Lite and FHF equipment. Now MeatEater brings another offer with the purchase of Phelps Game Calls last week.
Hunter and civil engineer Jason Phelps started Phelps Game Calls in 2009. The brand of the same name calls for moose, deer, waterfowl, predators and turkeys, among other things.
“It took me 12 years, a few mistakes, and a lot of hard work and determination. But we made Phelps Game Calls an industry leader, ”Phelps said. “And now, with the great management team and large audience at MeatEater, we can scale the business like never before.”

Phelps Game Calls will remain at Pe Ell, Washington headquarters and Phelps will remain the general manager. But with Venture capital funding from MeatEaterThe Phelps brand now has the full strength of an enterprise team to support it. This team is headed by the founder of MeatEater and the brand’s Netflix and podcast host. Steven Rinella.
