The powerhouse paddle brand NRS has just released its latest short film. If you just look at the equipment list, that's amazing.

"Turn around. A tornado. Trespassing. And poop water. Everything went according to plan. The NRS film, Beyond the Back Yard: The River of the Nation, was released online today. It's a 12-minute short film that follows two friends paddling bikes to the packraft on the Potomac River.

Before you look into that, here's some background on why they chose this river (aside from the fact that it's in their back yard).

The Potomac was the landfill for industrial waste for decades. But the 1972 Clean Water Act, along with years of environmentalist work, helped purify the water and bring it back to life. "At least that was what Michael and his best friend thought," the film teases.

The team is traveling by human strength, packrafting, and cycling (round-trip) from Great Falls National Park to Chesapeake Bay. The equipment list includes packrafts, bicycles, replacement tubes, repair kits, PFDs, 100-liter packsacks, helmets, ratchet straps, hydration bladders and of course food, water, shelter and coffee.

As you can imagine from the teaser, there are quite a few roadblocks, including dangerous and unexpected weather. The film focuses on the power of this massive and wild river.

This film was produced and directed by Michael CB Stevens.
