Do you need access to equipment but don’t want to buy everything? Gearo has launched the world’s first equipment rental pass.

Gearo, an online marketplace for outdoor equipment, has created an equipment rental pass that works on its network of 200+ outdoor retailers and 75+ cities around the world. The passes provide customers with an affordable way to access thousands of rental products in categories such as ski, snowboard, bike, kayak, camping and more across multiple rental locations.

“Our two main goals have always been to make outdoor gear more accessible to people and to increase sales for our retailers. We have seen strong evidence that a gear pass is effective in achieving both of these goals, ”he said Justine Barone, Founder and CEO of Gearo. (Barons actually gave her starting place at an event that GearJunkie hosted and won in 2018.)

And while Gearo was founded in Denver, its database now has locations from Alaska to Banff to New York.

Depending on your interests there are three pass options with various rental benefits: the Experience Pass, the Ski Plus Pass and the Go Big Pass.

The Ski Plus Pass includes two ski or snowboard packages and six additional rental equipment (two bicycles, two kayaks or SUPs and two camps). The six rentals are only valid for the bicycle, kayak and camp categories.

The Experience Pass includes a total of 12 rental equipment (three ski or snowboard rides, three kayaks or SUPs, three bicycles and three camps). Essentially, you get more options across four activity categories.

The third option is the Go Big Pass, as it sounds – it includes a total of 15 rentals with no category restrictions. Whether you’re an adventurous couple or a family of six, you can ski, snowboard, bike, SUP, kayak, or camp to your heart’s content.

Passes start at $ 33 per month. And based on the value of the equipment you can rent, the pass pays for itself in just a few uses. We think this pass is a great option for those who want to explore different activities or are not ready to invest in a full set of ski, bike or camp equipment.

There are some restrictions – for example, the bike rental doesn’t cover e-bikes and the ski packages are only for resorts – but other than that, the Gearo network is your oyster.

Each pass is valid for 365 days. You can view Gearos network or buy a pass Here.
