In 2020, miles meant more to many of us.
Boston hometown brand Tracksmith Running has just launched “Running is a gift.” The short film follows a powerful plot about the importance of earning miles.
“I have movement. Breath. Daydreams. I’m running, ”the narrator sings to the film at cadence.
The miles we’ve earned together this year have been pretty powerful – whether we drove them as a nurse in the emergency room, walked through empty neighborhood streets during the lockdown, or marched for social or environmental justice reasons.
“For Gavin, a school principal, they are a way to deepen his connection with his community. For Sam, a nurse, they are a break from the daily challenges of work, ”the film description says. “For Ash, a photojournalist, they are a reminder that every battle is fought in the moment. For Mary, an elite runner, they are a way back to where she wants to be. “
The runners are Gavin Smith, Mary Cain, Ashley Gilbertson, and Sam Roecker. Catherine Bull edited the short film and directed Emily Maye.
