What is it?
Summit Pack Away Ultra Lightweight Folding High Back Camp Chair RRP:
Overall Rating (4 / 5)
What we thought
The chair is light and easy to carry and as well as using it on camping trips, we also found it super useful for taking to the beach with us whilst we were down in Cornwall last month.
The chair is really quick to assemble, taking under than a minute and it takes up less than half the space of a standard camp chair when packed down, so it’s ideal for those who don’t have much space.
All of the legs and frame are attached by bungee cords and are super quick and easy to slot into place. The canvas and mesh seat cover is then easily slotted onto the frame.
The one problem that all chairs like this suffer from, is that they can sometimes sink into soft ground. As you can see from the picture above, we came up with a solution that involved placing the legs on flat pebbles which worked well and meant we could use it on the sand.

The addition of the higher back makes the chair far more comfortable, though it is worth pointing out that the seat isn’t particularly deep, we found it comfortable enough.
- Small pack size
- Light to carry
- Carry bag is easy to carry on your shoulder
- It’s really quick to put the chair together and get it up
- The high back makes the chair much comfier than the low back version
- As with all chairs of this style, the legs can dig into soft ground
- It’s so lightweight that the high back can catch the wind
Overall Rating (4.5 / 5)
This is a lightweight and highly portable chair that’s quick to put up and takes up very little space in transit. It’s ideal for taking out and about and the high back makes it more comfortable and versatile than the lower backed version.
If space is at a premium and you’re looking for something light that still delivers a decent level of comfort but you don’t want to pay a fortune for it, the Summit Ultra Lightweight High Back Camp Chair is well worth considering.
