The very best slippers for women and men in 2020

We tested indoors and outdoors to find the best slippers for women and men. Whether you’re sitting around the campfire or working from home, these slippers will make you feel comfortable and cozy.

Nothing ruins a good time like freezing feet. It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking at the latest outdoor doc after a long day on the slopes or kicking back in a cabin. Everything is more fun with the right slippers. So we tested, researched and hunted the best slippers for months.

Best slippers for men & women

Sure, we wish we’d camp every night. But the truth is, we spend a lot of time puttering, working, and living at home. Protect yourself from cold feet with these slipper picks. Some of these are also great for car camping or other winter uses when weight and packability are not an issue.

Glerups Slipper Boot – Unisex

These slippers ($ 155) lived up to all expectations. They are comfortable, durable, warm and breathable. The felted wool is naturally quick-drying and odorless. And the natural rubber sole offers a lot of traction, but remains lock-free and still feels like a slipper.

We really like how the wool adapts to your foot over time. These slippers quickly become an individual pair. And while they are indeed an investment, they will last for years. So they are actually a great value. They are also available in one Slip-on clog style.

LL Bean Wicked Good Slipper

Are your feet always cold? Do you dream of a super warm slipper? Then these $ 89 slippers are for you. The real lambskin lining is toasted and soft on bare feet. The sheepskin upper is impressively soft and adapts well to your feet. And the leather sole offers just enough traction.

LLBean is synonymous with slippers (literally selling seven pairs per second in December). These keep your feet super warm and don’t wear out.

Note: these are very warm slippers. People with naturally warm feet may find them too hot.

Nootkas Wool Slippers – Men & Women

Nootka's wool slippers

Are you concerned about hot, sweaty feet? Then this could be your answer ($ 89). The felted wool offers plenty of warmth, combined with excellent breathability and sweat-wicking properties. The suede bottom is very grippy and we liked the real slipper feeling. No bulky or chunky sole here.

And to top it off, you can feel good knowing that these are made from 100% New Zealand wool and made in a fair trade facility in Nepal.

Sorel Out N About Slippers – Women

Sorel is known for making winterproof boots, so it’s no surprise that the slippers are cozy, warm, and durable. The Out ‘N About Slipper ($ 80) has a waterproof rubber sole for those days when you need a cup of coffee. And the lambskin lining is toasted, soft and comfortable.

Bogs Moc Slipper Boot – Women

Moore Moc slippers

This $ 85 slipper moves between slipper and boot. The lambskin liner is warm and wonderfully muddy. The rubber sole is strong and ready for anything. They’re not the best for sneaking around the house easily, but if you have to stomp to the mailbox or run to the morning chores, they’re a winner.

Best camp slippers

Whether you’re heading into the backcountry, giving your feet a break from ski boots or taking a winter camping trip by car, these camp slippers will keep you busy.

Baffin Cush Slippers – Men & Women

Baffin Camp Slipper

A favorite with winter campers, the $ 50 Baffin Camp Slipper is like a sleeping bag for your feet. We wouldn’t recommend wearing them outside on rough surfaces as the base fabric is delicate. But if you suffer from constant cold feet, sleeping at night, or huddled up in a tent after a day of mountain climbing, these slippers could quickly become your new best friend.

Teva Ember Moc – Men & Women

Your Ember Moc Camp shoe
A perfect match between puffy and sneaker, the Ember Moc ($ 75) has quickly become an office favorite (read the full review here). Andy Cochrane, Contributor to GearJunkie, reports, “The shoe (slipper?) Is perfect for campsites, backcountry cabins, short hikes, casual evenings, road trips, flights or a short walk to the grocery store.”

And our overland tester claims it is the perfect driving shoe, thin enough to allow finely tuned pedal operation and comfortable for the whole day. With a foldable back wall, you can easily slide your foot in and out or pull the back wall up and enjoy full sneaker mobility.

The North Face ThermoBall Eco Traction Shoe – Men & Women

North Face ThermoBall

After a long day on the slopes, there’s nothing quite like tucking your feet into a pair of these pillow-like, warm slippers ($ 60). The ThermoBall insulation stays warm even when it’s wet and wraps your feet in an oh-so-comfortable cocoon.

Thanks to the robust, real rubber sole, you can also wear it outside. Whether you take your dog with you first thing in the morning or backpack your campsite after a long day, these boots will keep your feet warm, dry and comfortable.

These are currently on sale for a 40% discount.

Montane Prism Booties – Men

Montane Prism Booties

The insulated and super packable Prism Bootie ($ 55) is perfect for backcountry ski lodges where sniffed snow mingles with splinters of split firewood on the ground. The robust Hypalon sole is tear-resistant, while the PrimaLoft Gold insulation keeps your feet warm. We used these on hut trips and found them wonderfully comfortable and warm.

The best part is that they are packed very small and so light that you hardly notice them in your backpack.

Cabiniste Down Booties – Men & Women

Cabiniste Down Booties

Would you like a little more ankle and leg warmth? These boots ($ 65) could be just the thing. The responsible duck down is light, warm and packable. And the foam midsole offers just enough cushion for extra comfort. The DWR coating keeps light moisture out, but these are not completely waterproof.

And while the sole is reinforced, it’s not particularly durable. Store these in the tent or on the ground without any coarse debris.
